Loudon County Detention Facility introduces the Tek84 Intercept Body Scanner

LOUDON COUNTY, TENN – The Loudon County Detention Facility introduces the Tek84 Intercept Body Scanner. The body scanner detects both metallic and non-metallic threats, including weapons, drugs, cell phones and other contraband. Screens from below the feet to above the head reveal items under the clothing and within the body.
The body scanner will be placed within the intake area of the detention center and will allow for every inmate to be scanned prior to entry into the facility.
“A matter was made very clear within the first 100 days of taking office. We had several incidents of illegal narcotics being introduced into our facility,” said Sheriff Jimmy Davis. “We felt the inmates along with corrections staff was at serious risk from these dangerous drugs if in contact. It wasn’t a matter of if, but when a harmful incident would happen. Captain Langley, our Jail Administrator, took lead on a project and worked with neighboring agencies to determine the best course of action on locating illegal contraband coming into the detention facility. I approached our County Commission with the issue and they shared our concerns within the Detention Center. Loudon County Commission agreed on funding, and we were able to secure the Tek84 Body Scanner. “
The Tek84 Intercept Body Scanner is a crucial addition to our faculty and will ensure the safety and security of our inmates and corrections staff.
