Arrest Made on Felony Charges

PRESS RELEASE – On Friday, December 26, at approximately 8:00 p.m., deputies with the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence at 2529 Maple Hill Road in Loudon in an attempt to locate and arrest Connor Dehart on outstanding warrants through Loudon County General Sessions Court. The warrants included three felony charges: Evading Arrest, Theft of Property Over $10,000, and Manufacture, Delivery, Sale or Possession of Meth.

As deputies approached the residence, Dehart, who was outside when deputies arrived, fled inside and barricaded himself. Deputies made multiple attempts to get Dehart to come outside, but he refused to comply. After making announcements, deputies made entry into the home. Upon entry, deputies heard a gunshot and located Dehart in a bedroom with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Deputies immediately began rendering first aid and requested emergency medical services. Priority Ambulance Service responded and transported Dehart to Fort Loudoun Medical Center, where he was later flown by Lifestar to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. After several hours at UT Medical Center, Dehart died as a result of his injuries.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office, along with agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate the incident. Dehart’s family has been notified.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to Dehart’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time as they grieve this tragic loss.
